Citrus Lane September Box: Look at the Loot

I was so excited to see my shipping notification for this month's Citrus Lane box. Then I was so sad that it came while I was at work. I love to see The First Mate's face when the box arrives. He gets so excited and can't wait for us to open it. Luckily, The Captain was nice enough to snap a photo. Thank goodness too, because the snack was gone and the were contents strewn about the house by the time I got home.

Citrus Lane September 2013, 24 month old boy

So what is all that stuff and was it any good? Well, I'll tell you all the details.

AMMO Books Charley Harper ABCs

I love getting new books. We have quite a few, but I get tired of reading the same ones over and over again. This book is beautiful to look at too. You may have also noticed this month's Citrus Lane box was decorated with printed images. That was inspired by the book and is designed to encourage you to repurpose your box. I, however, did not like all the shredded paper in this month's box. Maybe it was to prevent one of the items from breaking, but I was not a fan.

Hape Toys City Planner Blocks

This was the biggest hit of the box. The First Mate loved to crash down the towers we helped him build. Typical toddler boy. I love durable toys like this. I also like that if a piece goes missing the toy isn't completely useless. It relies on imagination.

Episencial Playful Wash

I love that we received this wash because we are almost out of The Honest Company shampoo and wash from a previous Citrus Lane box. I wonder if they planned that. Episencial products are organic and gentle. This wash is also safe for the eyes. We will be using this one. We did receive a smaller size that the usual full size product though.

Happy Family Super Toddler Bar and coupons

The First Mate has been enjoying Happy Family products for quite some time. We actually just tried a toddler bar for the first time at an event and took some home in a goodie bag. I actually do mean "we" too. I tried it and it was good enough for grown ups too. This was gone pretty quickly. We also received some nice coupons to buy more Happy Family treats.

Julep Nail Color and coupon

I am terrible at painting my nails and have only done so a handful of time in my life. I can count the number of times since I had The First Mate. I would like to be optimistic and say I will use this product, but it may just sit in my drawer. I like that Julep doesn't have formaldehyde and other ingredients in their nail color though. A coupon that I know I will not use was also included.

So another month and another box that The First Mate loved. This box is valued at $41.79 (I guestimated a lower cost for the smaller size Episencial item). Citrus Lane boxes $21-$25 per month, so you are getting more than your money's worth.
