Shedding My Pirate Booty Two Month Update

I can't quite believe it's been eight weeks already. It seems both like I just started and that I've been at this forever. I am so happy that I've had success in these past two months, because it has helped to keep me on track.

This past week I wanted to be a picture perfect "dieter.' I've had so much going on to throw me off track in recent weeks, so I thought this week would be easy with no events, vacations, or celebrations to get in my way. But this week was hard!

I wanted to eat everything and sometimes I felt like I did. I am pretty sure I ate three cupcakes in one day. Oh, and the Halloween candy made an appearance in my food diary this week too. I struggled to stay within my daily calorie allowance, but I made sure to track everything. I had gotten out of the habit at the end of last week, so I wanted to get back on track with my diary. I also went down in allotted calories this week, so that made it even tougher.

I had no idea what to expect when I stepped on the scale, but I was still optimistic. Here are the results:

Week Seven Results:

Calories Burned Exercising: 3134
Net Calories Consumed: 11,020/12,390
Weight Lost: +.5 lbs, -19 lbs total
Current Weight: 209 lbs

I gained half a pound. Although I was hoping for a loss, it is a number I can bounce back from. My calories burned this week were lower than previous weeks, so that needs to change. I know myself, and if I don't kick it in to gear this week, I'll get discouraged. I'm am trying to focus on the positive results I've had this week. I fit into a pair of skinny jeans and bought a pair of work pants that are two sizes smaller.

So, I could use your support this week. Please comment below or shoot me a friend request of MyFitnessPal, username Pirate013. You can also link up your weight loss posts here each week too.

  1. I finally did something yesterday about my weight gain.... I bought a green supplemental drink mix and those green coffee bean capsules I hear so much about. I will let you know if I see a difference! I do need to get some kind of exercise program in place. Just found my Jamba Juice pedometer so maybe I'll start doing that.

  2. Good for you Joann. I can't do the green stuff. If it doesn't taste good, I don't want to waste calories on it. I would rather slowly limit portions and eat what I want than gulp down an unappealing drink. Luckily I love veggies too, otherwise I might weigh a ton. I've started taking evening walks with The First Mate to get in some exercise and quality time together. It doesn't feel like exercise or a chore then.

  3. That half a pound is nothing compared to what you've lost. 19 POUNDS - wow! It's inspiring. I have just started and only lost 2 so far, but you've got me motivated. I think I can, I think I can...

  4. Thanks Charity. Way to go with the two pounds! I'm happy to inspire others and have the support. I need to look at my progress more often rather than how far I have to go.

I'd love to hear what you've got to say. Please leave a comment and I'll do my best to reply to them all.
