Shedding My Pirate Booty Week Nine

I feel like I have been at this weight loss thing long enough for it to be easy. After a couple of slow weeks, I decided not to stress about my diet and just eat when I was hungry and hold myself accountable. I made sure to track my foods in my diary and I never once stepped on the scale. I needed to take the no pressure approach to avoid feeling discouraged by "dieting."

As someone who has tried (sometimes successfully, sometimes not) to lose weight before, I know my patterns. If the weight loss slows, I give up. If I feel deprived or starved, I binge. If it becomes too much work, I choose the easy way and eat fast food and stop tracking. As I said in my very first post in this series, I'd Break a Peg Leg at this Weight, I am determined to make this time different. This will be my last time losing weight. I want it gone for good.

With all of that said, I still have to do the work. I was hungry a lot this week, but that was usually due to a lot of activity. I worked my butt off at work and rewarded my calories burned with something delicious to satisfy my hunger. My stats show that I ate a lot of calories, but I still came out ahead with calories burned.

Week Nine Results:

Calories Burned Exercising: 4087
Net Calories Consumed: 10,400/12,390
Weight Lost: -2.5 lbs, 21 lbs total
Current Weight: 207 lbs

When I finally stepped on the scale this morning it was great to see that number go down a significant amount. I am happy to see more progress, as it only fuels me to continue. Thank you all for your kind words of support last week when I showed some gains. It really helped to get me focused and in the right frame of mind this week.

Let's keep each other motivated all week long on MyFitnessPal and you can also link up your personal weight loss posts here so others can follow along with you too.
