Citrus Lane November Box: Look at the Loot

If you read my review for last month's Citrus Lane box, then you may know if was a bit of a dud. The only good thing about that is it usually means a good box is sure to follow. November's box didn't disappoint, and thank goodness. We have been debating if we should keep up out subscription or not, so another mediocre box may have made up our minds.

Citrus Lane Box November 2013, 26 month old boy
Our November box for a 26 month old boy.

Disclosure: I am in no way affiliated with Citrus Lane. I do provide a referral link which gets me a $10 credit for anyone who orders a subscription through my link. The Amazon images go through my affiliate link, as I am a member of the Amazon affiliate program.

The theme of this month's box was meal time. Every box, regardless of age, contained meal related items. Our box really stuck with the theme. Here is the breakdown of what we received.

Green Toys Stock Pot & Utensil Set

We are big fans of Green Toys. We have a number of items from them. The set we received does not have the skillet, so I estimated the actual value of this item at $9.99 instead. This will was pretty exciting to see when we opened our box. It will be a big hit with The First Mate, he loves to "help" me cook. I only hope it doesn't make him even more hands on with my cooking.

Skip Hop Zoo Plate (Monkey)

I have always envied the Citrus Lane subscribers who received Skip Hop items. We haven't been so lucky until this month. The Zoo plate is an adorable monkey with divided sections. I was impressed with the thickness and quality of the plate. That's why we don't have any. I'm not willing to shell out $16.50 for something that will get thrown on the floor often. We will definitely us this item. I am ready to throw out all of the cheap plates we purchased for The First Mate.

Bumkins Reusable Snack Bags

We are very familiar with the Bumkins brand. When we lived in Arizona we frequented their store. I already have one of their reusable snack bags from out Great Cloth Diaper Change goodie bag. We use it regularly, but I am too cheap to buy more. Man, as I write this I am realizing I am a serious tightwad.

Pür~lisse Lip Comfort

I am glad there was a "mom item" this month. I was beginning to think they forgot about me. I wasn't so sure about this, because I hate lip gloss. I am more of a lip balm person. However, I have already used this and it isn't runny like lip balm. It feels a bit greasy, but I think it is just ultra moisturizing. My dry lips already feel better.

Good Boy Organics Organicasaurus Baked Organic Corn Snacks (Cheddar Cheese)

Whenever we receive a snack, The First Mate eats it immediately. I wasn't there when he opened up his treat, but I heard from other moms that they were gross. Most of the kids ate them though, so I guess that's all that matters. We are slowly reintroducing dairy to The First Mate, so he was actually able to eat these. I couldn't find one single size on Amazon, but the unit price comes out to $1.78.

Tiny Prints Coupon for Address Labels

I was so underwhelmed with this item, I almost forgot to mention it. The coupon gives you four free sets of address labels (a $28 dollar value) when you spend $99!!!!!!! That is not something I would spend, and that's not just because I'm cheap. That is just too much money to spend on holiday cards and such. Not. Gonna. Happen.

Overall, the meal time box was a hit. Even with the coupon, the total value of this box is technically $70.18. However, there is no way I will be using the Tiny Prints coupons, so that brings the real value to $42.18. That is a pretty great deal considering a subscription box is now as low as $15 per month.

You know what else is a good deal? Save $10 off your Citrus Lane box. Just follow any of my referral links in this post and use code TAKETEN to save on your new subscription. We really enjoy getting our box each month, and the suspense is fun.

If you aren't ready to subscribe, I also have all of the items we have ever received in any Citrus Lane box in The Ship Shop. That's my Amazon a store full of other cool items, too.
