Shedding My Pirate Booty Week Eighteen

Well, my Winter ONEderland deadline has arrived, unlike my modem. I miss my damn internet!

I was realistic about my results. I needed to lose three pounds this past week, all while enjoying Christmas. I wasn't about to have a miserable Christmas, it's only once a year. However, it wasn't just Christmas I had to deal with.

I get extra days off work during the holidays. My days off are statistically lazy. I like to cuddle with The First Mate and avoid people in the outside world, since I deal with them 40 hours each week. That really hurt my exercise numbers.

It also seems the sweets and treats of Christmas were everywhere this week. I started off the week going over my calorie goal and each day I thought I would do better. I just never could stay out of the red. But look how festive my net calories chart is. At least I have that going for me!

I averaged 2001 calories a day. Yikes! I still tracked every single morsel I ate, that's why Christmas Day is so high. I then, for some ridiculous reason, decided to cook Thanksgiving dinner last night. You read that right. I made our favorite dishes because we didn't get to enjoy them all on actual Thanksgiving.

So, after all of that eating, I stepped on the scale.

Week Eighteen Results:

Calories Burned Exercising: 2916
Net Calories Consumed: 14,012/10,220
Weight Lost:  +0.5 lbs,  -29.5 lbs total
Current Weight:  198.5 lbs

Weight gains suck, but it's only a little and it's completely deserved. I didn't stick to my plan, so I didn't get the results.

I want to be clear though, that I am TOTALLY fine with straying from my "diet" for special occasions. If I had nothing but salads and clear soups I would resent my weight loss plan and binge even more.

It's okay to veer off the track if you are just taking the scenic route. You'll still end up at your destination, just a bit later than intended. You will also be happier that you stopped to take in the scenery and enjoy life. Journeys just can't be all detours, or you'll never find your way.

Look at me all philosophical and junk. I am calling my Winter ONEderland a success anyways. I still lost weight during the holidays, and that's something to be proud of. Come back next week, I will be working for better results.

Please add me on MyFitnessPal, but no link up this week. It's just too difficult to do on my iPhone. I should have internet up and running soon.

P.S,
I got The Captain a FitBit Force for Christmas, so he's joining me again in the New Year. I think it will be a great help to have a partner again in my weight loss.
