Shedding My Pirate Booty Week Thirty-One

This week was tough on me. Believe it or not, it's not always easy and fun to lose weight and get healthy. One thing I have never been good at is staying off the scale. I really should only weigh once a week, but I just need that constant barometer of how I'm doing.

All week long the scale was showing a gain of up to two pounds! That was scary. I'm usually pretty consistent with my weight loss, or if it isn't pretty, I know exactly what I did to deserve that number. This gain on the scale had me racking my brain on what I did, or didn't do.

I turned to my support system for insight, and of course, support. Even though Mamavation Bootcamp is over, the other moms and I stay in touch. They had some great points that the scale could be showing what happened in my previous week. Last week I ate more and exercised less than this week, so it may have been catching up to me.

I held strong and kept at it. When I stepped on the scale yesterday morning, I hoped my persistence would pay off.

Week Thirty-One Results: 

Calories Burned Exercising: 2956
Net Calories Consumed: 8312/10,080
Weight Lost:  -.5 lbs,  -51.5 lbs total
Current Weight:  176.5 lbs

I didn't have a gain, but it certainly wasn't a stellar loss. My own theories are that my body is still adjusting since eating actual food again. The stomach bug that plagued me the past two weeks threw me off my routine of nutrition and exercise. Now that I am back into my exercise and running (yay!) my muscles are adjusting as well. My muscle might be holding on to some water. If you recall my second week of Bootcamp I didn't lose any weight from all the exercising.


I set some goals last week that I really wanted to keep. I think I pretty much failed at all of them. Some things came up that just through me off my plans.
  • Exercise 6 days - I did burn almost 1000 more calories this week, but only really exercised 3 days.
  • Run at least 2 times - I managed to get in one decent run.
  • Drink my water - I drank more, but not consistently. 
  • Stay within my calories - I did stay within my calorie range given during bootcamp! 
  • Hangout with my fellow bootcampers - Life as moms happened for all of us, so it will have to wait until this week

So, my goals will remain the same this week. Hopefully I can make them happen. I am determined to hit my pre-pregnancy weight next week!
