Shedding My Pirate Booty Week Twenty-Nine

Today's update is a little different than some of the rest. I decided to recognize how far I've come in these 29 weeks. I've still got a ways to go, but I've reached a milestone today!

Pirate Prerogative's stats for My Fitness Pal. She shares weekly updates to stay on track.

Week Twenty-Nine Results:

Calories Burned Exercising: 2681
Net Calories Consumed: 8837/10,080
Weight Lost:  -4.5 lbs,  -50 lbs total
Current Weight:  178 lbs

I've lost 50 pounds so far in my quest to shed this Pirate Booty.

That's right, I've lost 50 pounds so far! I didn't expect it to happen so fast, but this week was a big 4.5 pound loss. I've come a long way, as you can see by this terrible before picture taken on the fourth of July last year.

My "before" photo being fat on July 4th, 2013

Then check out me in the same clothes today. I never thought I would be able to do one of those me in fat pants pics, but I did. Maybe I'll save those pants for when I get to my final goal weight. Please excuse my Richie Sambora hair, I am in need of a haircut.

My results after losing 50 pounds!

There were a lot of things that contributed to that number on the scale this week. I got back into exercising this week and had some really great workouts, that was a factor for sure. I also came off of a week with no weight loss and the end of my period. Then, at the end of the week I got sick with some sort of stomach bug or food poisoning. I had to cancel my running days and stick to a bland a minimal BRAT diet. Not fun.

I'm still not feeling all that great and I am itching to run. It's been way too long. I'm looking forward to hitting another milestone next week, my pre-pregnancy weight of 176 pounds.

I have to thank everyone who has been supportive, and even those who haven't because... BOOYAH. Like I said, I am not to my goal, at all, but I'm proud of the work I've done thus far.

See you next week.

  13. Thanks Martha. I am learning through this whole process to be more empowered. I am the one making these changes, and I should give myself some credit. It's tough to remember that sometimes.
