Emergency Preparedness

It's been a crazy few days here in San Diego. We are surrounded by wildfires (though some have signs of suspicious starts) and it feels like a new fire is always sprouting up.

My view on my way to work yesterday.

My family and friends have been out of harm's way, for the most part. We voluntarily evacuated Wednesday night, but are home now. It is a somber reminder of the Witch Fire of 2007 that devastated my hometown. My family home was narrowly spared, just a street away from the hardest hit section of homes. Sadly, there are many who's homes have perished.

Carole, of Two Sweet 4 Two, did lose her home in those fires years ago. She has shared her story and some valuable information on being prepared for the unexpected.

I urge you to read her Resolve to Be Ready post and ensure you are prepared. It is tough to think in the moment when you are forced to evacuate, and Carole has been through it. She know the heartache and the headache of the aftermath and has been so kind to share what she learned.
